creamer & scones

Goodness the past two weeks went by in a blink. I just made a cup of tea so I suppose there’s no time like the present to catch up. Undoubtedly, not a world concern but I am sipping on the very last of our Mango Passion fruit tea. Yet another reason to make a Sprout’s run. Garrett has turned me into a label reader and as of yesterday I realized I am using Baking Powder with aluminum. It pairs well with my splurge of organic flour to be sure. Heavens. Once you start thinking about ingredients it’s definitely an ongoing discovery. One item at a time as we run out is my attempt at not refusing to think about it altogether. Speaking of ingredients, Bec turned me onto Half & Half in my coffee maybe three or four years ago and I have gradually used less and less. I can drink my coffee black but I still prefer to have a little treat in my first cup. It’s important to mention all this so you understand the life changing recipe I tried out yesterday morning when alas, due to postponing a grocery run, I had not a drop of Half & Half. I finally whipped up my own coffee creamer and I am pleased as a peach. It still weirds me out sometimes that I have things like canned coconut milk in our pantry. It’s weird but definitely convenient.

By a turn of the most fortunate events, my lovely sister-in-law was able to spend my birthday weekend with us. It was such a treat to have uninterrupted girl talk and time to drink endless cups of coffee with her. Morghan is a rare beauty inside and out and I’m so lucky to have her friendship. I found the prettiest Strawberries and Cream scone recipe on Pinterest and we made them for my birthday treat. They were ridiculously easy to whip up and even more so to eat one right after the other. I’ll be making these tasty beauts until the end of time.
